While driving on 136 in Harford County, MD, I realized how beautiful the form of a dying tree, standing still and at around 11 feet tall was, especially when thinking about the contrast of the dark form against a sun lit, snow covered field. My goal is to cast a tree (generally trees without branches, dying, dark, etc.) in iron or bronze (expensive) and freezing the form in fields in Harford County Maryland. I may need to create the form from wax, using tools to recreate the form of a tree. The act of immortalizing something is a kind of delicate desperation i'm interested in right now.
I miss Harford, trees, summer, everything natural that I cannot find in Baltimore. Please melt the snow and make my days manageable.
Rest In Peace:
I'd like to create resting places made of organic material, chairs of dead tree limbs and apple cores. I'm not sure yet how i'll address this idea.
